An inspiring website.

While browsing around the web recently, I stumbled across a great website that has really impressed me and I feel the need to share it with everyone. This is where those who know me would expect me to start discussing the virtues of the website's design, until your eyes glaze over with boredom. It does have a great design, but it isn't the design that has captured my attention. It's the content.
The TED website (TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design.) contains more than 200 videos of great speakers on stage, spreading ideas, inspiration and knowledge. The website brings together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives, in less than 18 minutes.
I've also now checked out the TED website and I have to admit, I too am impressed. Some of the videos are great to watch.
TED is a community welcoming people from every discipline and culture who have just two things in common: they seek a deeper understanding of the world, and they hope to turn that understanding into a better future for us all.
They believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world.
And I think it works. I'm now in the habbit of starting every day with another video. Visit the TED website: www.ted.com
My stroke of insight
This video was the first TED video I watched, in which the speaker, Jill Bolte Taylor, a brain scientist, describes the experience of realizing she was having a massive stroke.
