HTTP compression
HTTP Compression is an effective way of speeding up delivery of your website and reducing your monthly bandwidth costs.
HTTP Compression works in much the same way as compressions programs like WINZIP and ZIPIT - by compressing the content at the web server before it is sent to the browser and decompressing it at the other end.
Major websites such as Google and Yahoo use compression to speed the delivery of their site.
If your monthly bandwidth costs are spiraling out of control - or your pages are very large and take too long to open in a web browser - consider adding HTTP compression to your website.
We recommend the Port 80 product HTTPZip for windows based servers, however there are many other similar products on the market at a relatively small expense.
JIMMYWEB can help with the installation and implementation of HTTP Compression software.
