Design Tool: Stage your App with ‘Placeit’

PlaceIt is a simple, drag-and-drop tool which lets you generate realistic product screenshots in seconds.

Simply upload your screenshot, wait a few moments and BAM: skews and glares are automatically applied to create attractive renderings, all without Photoshop.

The results, as you can see in the samples shown above and below, are quite impressive, especially when considering how little work is involved for the user. Yes, there are countless other tools for creating mockups such as these, but many of them take significantly more time and skill, and often rely on Photoshop Smart Objects, Actions and templates.

The small comp images (400×300 pixels) are free, with larger images costing $8 to $80 depending on size and usage. That may seem expensive, but when you consider the cost of buying a stock photo, and the time it would take to mask out the image area and drop your image in, it’s well worth it.
